About Us:
Our Origins
STE-AD is an Architectural practice founded by Sean T Ellis, AIA in 2021 in Hong Kong.
Having gained experience working for several prominent, international Architecture firms in New York City and Hong Kong, STE-AD was founded to prioritize a few key elements of Architecture:
- To push design further and to create beautiful and provocative places and objects will always be at the forefront of what we do
- To make components of Architecture repeatable, yet customizable, to reduce cost and potentially benefit Sustainability
- To focus effort and research on reducing carbon footprint within Architecture and the built environment
Our Focus
At STE-AD we focus on developing engaging designs with the intent of creating simple, yet provocative experiences by use of materials and spatial arrangement.
We do not wish to be interesting, we wish to be good.
We provide services in Architecture as well as several fields of design.
Our Experience
We have nearly 20 Years of experience working in large international firms in New York and Hong Kong that is key to providing quality in our work at STE-AD.
That experience includes working on a wide range of high profile commercial, residential, and cultural projects throughout Asia, Europe and the USA.
Our Services
We offer a wide range of Architectural Services including all phases of Design. We are highly experienced in creating complex 3-dimensional geometries, technical architectural detailing and computational design as well as graphic and industrial design.
Our Capabilities
We are a BIM capable practice and have extensive experience in using Rhinoceros, Autodesk Revit with Rhino Inside Revit and Grasshopper.
With our technical expertise in Architecture, Facades, Interiors, Theater Design, Construction and Computational Design we can assist you with your project. We also have a passion for Graphic Design, Furniture, Industrial Design and Installations.

We retain a network of Architects and Designers that have worked in a number of world-renowned Architecture firms across the globe. We stay versatile by tapping into this network as needed in order to adapt to projects of any scale or type
