The Origami House, an architecturally unique residence located in Kutchan, near Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan, recently revealed two new renderings of a feature wooden door pull handle for a glass and aluminum frame entrance door, with a wood slat privacy screen behind the glass.
The Renderings
The new renderings showcase the unique design of the door pull handle, which is inspired by the ancient Japanese art of origami and is a scale ‘model’ of the roof and ceiling design. The handle is made of a single piece of wood that is folded and ‘bent’ to create a dynamic and visually appealing form. The handle is also functional, with beveled edges on the back side where the hand will touch the piece, providing a comfortable and easy grip for opening the door.
The wood slat privacy screen behind the glass adds an additional layer of privacy and visual interest to the entrance of the home. The slats are arranged in a staggered pattern, with the inner layer operable to make the wall completely ‘opaque’, allowing natural light to filter into the home while also providing privacy from the outside world.
The new renderings of the Origami House entrance door are just a glimpse of the many unique and dynamic features that this home has to offer. The Origami House is designed to be both luxurious and sustainable, with a variety of features that make it both comfortable and eco-friendly.
The Origami House is the perfect place to relax and recharge after a long day of skiing or snowboarding or to simply enjoy the stunning scenery of Hokkaido, Japan.
