New Renderings for Kabayama House

Renderings for a New House in Kabayama, Niseko, Japan

Architectural rendering of a stone and dark stained wood louver house in Japan

Niseko, Japan – In a thrilling fusion of minimalist form and snow-country practicality, the Architectural vision for Kabayama House has recently been revealed. Nestled against the majestic backdrop of Mount Yotei, this single-family ski holiday home promises an unforgettable experience for residents and visitors alike.

A Snow-Ready Retreat

Kabayama House was conceived with a purpose: to harmonize seamlessly with the heavy snowfall that blankets the renowned Niseko ski resort area. Its simple yet striking form—crafted by the talented team at STEAD, with 3D visualizations in collaboration with Jared Nash Olmsted Design—speaks volumes about its functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Design Highlights

  • Iconic Extrusion: Picture singl-slope gable extrusions intersecting at 90-degree angles, creating a dynamic silhouette that defies convention. This architectural marvel floats above articulated volumes, capturing the essence of modern mountain living.
  • Prime Location: Situated to perfection, Kabayama House enjoys dual accessibility from two sides. Its narrow footprint maximizes the picturesque views: Mount Yotei to the southeast and the Niseko Annupuri International Ski Area to the northwest.
  • Snow Shedding: The L-shaped layout channels snow away from the garage and entrance, ensuring safety and convenience.
  • Materials Palette: The exterior facade boasts grey-stained Cedar Timber slats, stone cladding, and insulated glass window walls. Brushed stainless steel accents add a touch of contemporary flair.
  • Interior Harmony: Step inside, and you’ll find a seamless transition from the exterior. Natural cedar cladding contrasts beautifully with the grey stain, while carefully chosen tiles enhance the tactile experience.
